Our Mission
Our Purpose
We help disadvantaged children learn.
Our Mission
We collaborate with Title One public elementary school teachers providing services and products to get all students caught up to grade level. In the effort to close the economic inequality gap, we bring these children further along – or these little ones would be left behind at the beginning of their education.
Our Focus
Since the economic inequality gap is easier to close the younger the child, we focus on building strong foundations in kindergarten and first grade.
Our Vision
Our long-term vision is to consistently have 90% (or higher) of students performing at grade level by the end of first grade. We aim to get these students caught up before they fall even further behind.
Our Goals
Our day-to-day goals are to:
- Provide our teachers with the resources needed to make classroom time more effective
- Extend the classroom time by ending the home educational desert
- Have every child feel confident in his/her ability to learn
Know & Grow will, for many of these students, change their educational trajectories and last a lifetime!
Our Customers
The kindergarten and first-grade teachers have to bring these children further along – or the children are left behind at the beginning of their education. Collaboration is the key to Know & Grow’s success.
Our Home
Dinsmore Elementary is the perfect home for Know & Grow. All – yes, 100% – of the children receive a free lunch (Community Eligibility Provision). Additionally, Dinsmore is one of the most racially diverse public elementary schools in Duval County.
Our Strategy
With all our teachers do, we at Know & Grow Learning Depot understand there is no one thing that is going to bring all the students up to grade level – and beyond! Our strategy is to help teachers make small improvements – and keep making small improvements – until momentum is gained and at least 90% of all students are at grade level by the end of first grade.
Our Core Values
- Reach students before their confidence gets trampled
- Remember many children are “on their own”
- Belief in desire to learn
- Devoted to helping teachers help our students
