Years ago, we made word-creation trays to support the newly adopted literacy program, UFLI. Built by teen volunteers, the trays took a lot of effort and even though we followed the online instructions provided by the University of Florida, our trays were, how shall we say it, simply functional.
Now that UFLI has been in existence for a few years, there is a word-creation tray on the market built specifically for the UFLI program. The ready-made trays are much prettier and because they are made of plastic (and not using a metal cookie sheet) much quieter for classroom use.
We are pleased that by the beginning of next school year, we will have provided all kindergarten classrooms with these new word-creation trays. Because literacy is so very important, we at Know & Grow want our kiddos to have the best!
