Fifth-grade Science

It’s a win-win!  The kids are having fun and learning science at the same time.  In one of many exercises, students raced cars down the different surfaces of this ramp while discussing the forces present. This Friction Board was custom built to Ms. Zortea’s science specifications by volunteer Roger Mann.  Thanks to both for helping

Ms. Zortea will use this new model to demonstrate the Earth orbiting the Sun, the Moon orbiting Earth, and Earth spinning on its axis – all correctly geared to show each month!  Using a light, which represents the sun, the model will also teach fifth-graders night and day, the seasons, and eclipses.
