We’ve delivered 2,970 kindergarten Sight Word Pads! Requested by teachers, the 30 different Sight Word Pads align directly with the classroom curriculum. A new pad is introduced each week. Each pad contains the newest words the children are expected to learn and know “by sight” (i.e., not sounded out). A few sentences show how the words are used. Manuscript lines help students practice their handwriting while reinforcing these words. At the back of each pad is an alphabetical grouping of sight words to date.
We want to thank our volunteers. Walmart River City Marketplace provided the grant that funded the purchase of 21, 285 sheets of cardstock and copy paper. The FedEx Office at Marsh Landing Parkway cut the pads. Janet Johnson and teen volunteers assembled the pads.
