Already, two kindergarteners have earned t-shirts! The Know & Grow Tutoring Program has eight (8) goals. Students receive certificates as they complete each goal. Once a child receives three certificates, he/she receives this fun Khan Academy Kids t-shirt. Would you like to sponsor a child? For only $16/month, a Dinsmore Elementary kindergartener has after school […]
Thanks to all the families who visited our booth on Literacy Night. Even though it was cold outside, we had more than 25 students stop by and learn about Khan Academy Kids. Ms. Tiffany and her daughter helped me “man” this booth – our first ever! Ms. Tiffany is a volunteer tutor in Ms. Williams’
Kindergarten had a beautiful day for their Garden Day! Thanks to volunteer Roger Mann they also had a 40-bottle plant stand built to Ms. Labe’s specifications. He even provided eight large bags of garden soil! To grow the plants for Garden Day, the 5th grade indoor plant stand Roger built years ago found its way
Would you believe kindergarteners are expected to know 237 words by sight? To help them achieve this goal, we’ve prepared 125 charts listing all these “sight words.” They are colorful and laminated. The second is used to store trays of letters that help teach kids how to read. As modern classrooms contain more and more teaching aids, organization is a must!
The kindergarteners enrolled in our tutoring program progress at their own pace. As each of our Know & Grow Kiddos complete one of the eight goals, he/she receives a certificate to take home. The children taking the iPads home for after-school tutoring complete the goals MUCH faster!

They cleaned and organized existing teaching tools: they replaced batteries in etch-a-sketches, cleaned and counted bags of geo shapes, cleaned and prepped the iPads for screen protector replacements,
Know & Grow Learning Depot now has an employee. This is a first and is a giant step for our nonprofit! This part-time teaching assistant tutors kindergarteners. Using the award-winning Khan Academy Kids, she tutors groups of up to 10 students at a time. With the learning software, each child progresses at his/her own pace.

In addition to reducing the classroom noise level, the tennis balls also make it possible for the young children to slide and re-arrange their chairs. Thanks to the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club for donating tennis balls. And, thanks to Roger Mann for cutting
