Can you spell hug?

When learning to read, being able to spell consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words is a BIG deal.  We designed these trays so that the kids, when asked to spell a word, can see all the beginning, middle, and ending possibilities. The teachers asked we add images to the trays.  Can you see the little image of the […]

One-on-one tutoring

Even though our classroom tutoring is in small groups, each child receives one-on-one assistance the entire time from Kodi and friends! Students progress at their own speed along our learning path.  We designed our own learning paths based on teacher recommendations.  We could not use the built-in Khan Academy Kids learning path as it rotates

The Graduate

“Ariel” started kindergarten knowing only two letters of the alphabet.  She would cry as she didn’t know as much as was expected.  “Ariel” diligently took an iPad home and completed ten little assignments most every night.  Around Valentines’ Day, “Ariel” was removed by her classroom teacher from the Know & Grow Tutoring Program – even

Zoo Field Trip

We are fortunate in Jacksonville to have a first-class zoo. Zoo visits help children understand animal behavior and characteristics and discover how they differ from how books and other media portray them.  It is a good workout for the brain that helps kindergarteners to grow mentally. A zoo is a place where they are exposed
