Improved Blue Books

Last school year, we printed and bound “decodable” lessons/drills in support of the new University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) program the District implemented to teach young readers.  This school year, we expanded the workbooks to include a special “Let’s Spell Together” manuscript page.  This new page was designed by a Dinsmore Elementary kindergarten teacher.

Can you spell hug?

When learning to read, being able to spell consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words is a BIG deal.  We designed these trays so that the kids, when asked to spell a word, can see all the beginning, middle, and ending possibilities. These templates will help the little learners draw each shape in varying sizes and orientations.

Zoo Field Trip

We are fortunate in Jacksonville to have a first-class zoo. Zoo visits help children understand animal behavior and characteristics and discover how they differ from how books and other media portray them.  It is a good workout for the brain that helps kindergarteners to grow mentally. A zoo is a place where they are exposed

Seeing the Possibilities

CVC (consonant – vowel – consonant) words are important when learning to read.  We designed this word tray to give young children a big picture view of CVC words. The tray makes it easy for a child to build a word by seeing the beginning, middle, and ending letter possibilities.  Just one more tool Dinsmore
